Minimal Digital Clock – Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 3, 2026 · Last updated: June 17, 2026
Minimal Digital Clock (the “App”), displayed on your device as “Minimal Clock”,
is operated by the developer to provide a simple, elegant digital clock and timing
experience. We value your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store,
and protect relevant information.
1. Information We Collect
The App is primarily local-first. We only collect the following when necessary:
- Local preferences: Settings such as weekday/date/seconds display, 24-hour format, and visual effects, stored on your device (SharedPreferences) to restore your preferences.
- Anonymous device identifier: A random UUID generated and stored locally for anonymous analytics, not linked to your real identity.
- Device and version information: For anonymous analytics, may include device model, OS version, app version, and interface language for compatibility and usage analysis.
- Usage analytics: Anonymous behavioral data such as page views and feature usage frequency to improve the product.
- Network resources: When you use online background music or images, the App requests resources from our servers; access logs (e.g., IP address, request time) may be recorded for security and operations.
The App does not actively collect sensitive personal information such as your legal name, national ID, contacts, precise location, or photo library content.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide and maintain core features: clock, timer, themes, and effects;
- Save and restore your display preferences (primarily on-device);
- Load online background music and image resources;
- Conduct anonymous statistical analysis to improve performance and experience;
- Ensure service security, troubleshoot issues, and comply with applicable laws.
3. Permissions
The App may request the following system permissions only when needed:
- Network (INTERNET): Load online resources, send anonymous analytics, and optional account-related features.
- Notifications (if applicable): Timer reminders; you may disable this in system settings at any time.
- Background audio (if applicable): Play background music; not used after you turn off the feature.
We will not deny basic clock functionality because you decline non-essential permissions.
4. Storage and Security
- Local preference data is stored on your device and removed when you uninstall the App.
- Anonymous analytics data is stored on cloud servers in the People’s Republic of China, with reasonable safeguards such as access controls and HTTPS encryption.
- We retain information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share or disclose information only when:
- You have given explicit consent;
- Required by laws, regulations, or lawful requests from judicial or administrative authorities;
- Necessary to protect the rights and interests of the App, users, or the public.
6. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Manage notifications, network, and other permissions in system or app settings;
- Clear locally stored preferences and anonymous UUID by uninstalling the App;
- Contact us to inquire about, correct, or delete personal information held on our servers (where applicable).
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may have
additional rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability,
and objection. Contact us using the details below to exercise these rights.
7. Children
The App is intended primarily for adults. If you are a minor, please read this policy
and use the App under guardian supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children.
8. Policy Updates
We may revise this policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this
page with a new effective date. If changes materially affect your rights, we will
notify you through reasonable means such as in-app notices.
